#119 This Head I hold

As I said in the previous post I'll try to be a bit more active as I've neglected the blog slightly in the past few months. However, I didn't waste my time so there are some pretty interesting tracks on my mind which I would like to share with you guys! Also I am planning on expanding the Promising Artists section with evoking bands I came across with lately!

The daily urge to share was because of Electric Guest - This head I hold, absolutely brilliant band and track can brighten up any gray and dull day (my humble opinion..)! I guess they are classified as indie/electro pop but the song sounds quite funky... personally I'm quite eager to check out their other stuff, but first I need to abuse the replay button on youtube ;)

Besides them... I guess I would throw these stuff in the melting pot - Raphael Saadiq - Big Easy and Purity Ring - Loftcries

I hope you liked the music and if you do - pass it along, would be highly appreciated! :)

#114 The library music

Scrolling through the last posts it is quite obvious I haven't been very active in posting for a while. It's not because there is not good music to be shared... I guess I really felt quite idea-less (wtf, is there such word?). Anyhow, a friend of mine just put some good words about it so I kind of felt the call for hitting the CTRL+V a couple of times tonight. So, thank you mi amigo =)

Despite of being extremely awful live, Angels and Airwaves still have kick-ass song ..such as Start the Machine.

Let's throw in the post some good library music - Ratatat - Gettyburg and The Banana Sessions - Bananas (well thats very creative..)

#113 No use for a title

I feel the overwhelming urge to say...nah, say is way too dull.. to shout, scream ..oh well, just pass the following message - music is and has always been one of the greatest creation of our kind. It's fucking mental and mind-blowing. It's like... anyway - you know, I bet! Also, I love Incubus. Probably one of the few bands from my childhood I never got tired listening to. And despite the fact I have posted about them many times, it needs to be done again, sick sad little world!

Ok, I'll try to post something not THAT well-known so that paltry post might be useful to the few who read it =)

RUFUS - We left very promising young Australian band..their scene is almost never disappointing!

the next band actually makes me very, very proud! Quite the pleasant surprise from Bulgaria..- Southwick - Pink Skies

#112 Pinkpop

Summer is coming...well, kind of and the major festivals around Europe are announcing the upcoming line-ups so I had some fresh ideas for bands I haven't posted before on the blog! I would really like to check out Pinkpop in the Netherlands, legendary festival, but yeah... money don't grow on trees, so will see =)

I come across The Wombats very often (the name) but never listened to their music before, but I really liked what I heard so far! So the reason of the post today is Tokyo (Vampires & Wolves).

Another interesting bands (in my opinion) that will be on that festival this year are... Blood red shoes - I wish I was someone better, which are playing in the city where I live soonish, so fingers crossed.. and lets say.. Bombay Bicycle Club - Always like this

#109 Karma /electro-pop/

After almost a month of ...hiatus ?! :D...due to the enormous hunger for time of my thesis I finally sat down behind the laptop to drop a line or two! A lot of cool music is coming up, but unfortunately the posts will probably be short...which might be appreciated by some. Enjoy!

College feat. Electric Youth - A real Hero (its part of the Drive OST and.. I highly recommend it)

Abandon - Feel it in your heart

Weekend Wolves - Karma

#103 Don't look away /indietronica/

I observe significant lack of ideas for anything different than oh-crap-that-is-boring comment, so lets make our lives a bit more easier and just skip to the chosen songs. I guess it's gonna be this kind of electro/pop post... like if the Smiths had sex with...Daft Punk? I just really like the first song.

R e a l M a g i c - Hard 2 keep

Empire of the Sun - Walking on a dream

Cut Copy - Lights & Music

#102 Eurosonic Noorderslag

Ok, I had to drop everything and start writing that post, cause a super awesome coincidence just ..occurred.

So, I was just browsing random videos as a background to my reading in the extremely boring library and I came across Vondelpark - HipBone. So, after listening to the song like 5 times, I decided to abandon reading about the global and industrial diversification of companies, and check their profile on last.fm...and apparently they are part of the Eurosonic festival, which is happening in the city where I live. I've been thinking to write a short post about some bands playing there and finding out that those guys are part of the festival was ..well, cool coincidence. So check them out along with other artists playing here this weekend.

Vondelpark - HipBone

Phuture Shock - Don't Let Go *FYI: amazing Bulgarian band*

Benjamin Francis Leftwich - Pictures

Madeon - Pup Culture

2:54 - Scarlet

Great Mountain Fire - Late lights

James Vincent McMorrow - Early in the morning

...and many, many more. More than 250 artists are performing - from dubstep to hip hop to..acoustic rock. Those who have tickets are lucky bas.... people! For the rest of us - there's always youtube.

#93 Ghosts /downtempo, chillout/

Oh well, the daily struggle with all the reading for university and the general lack of sleep totally sucked out all creativity so I really have nothing that worth reading. And I'm also lazy. Like really lazy. I guess it is better to focus on the music tonight. Enjoy :)

Lusine - Two dots

Stateless - Bloodstream

Ladytron - Ghosts

#62 Aligator sky /electronic pop/

Biking in the Netherlands, besides a must can be quite fun, especially when its raining. Ocassionally, being soaked, driving through the deserted city while raining and accompanied with the right soundtrack, is pretty awesome. So, that was my soundtrack tonight.

Owl city - Aligator sky

Owl city - The saltwater room

Lusine - Twilight

#41 Rich /electro pop/

Okay, so I was wondering what to post next and I had my doubts between something electronic or something light and poppy... soo I remembered a song from a QuickSilver video promotion - We are enfant terrible - Snap Dragon. I'm not quite sure what genre is that, but for me it qualifies as electro pop?

The other songs I chose are... I just realized I think those songs sound really sexy and a bit dirty, if I can describe them. Especially the next one.

Yeah yeah yeahs - Rich

...and The naked and famous - Girls like you

#25 Naked and famous /electro pop, indie rock/

Hey, its gonna be a really quick post, although I had a crazy crazy weekend with a total amount of sleep around 5 or 6 hours. And I do have what to say about life in general, cause I just realized that all I write in the blog are boring daily thingies. Lame. But, anyways I just played The naked and Famous - Punching in a dream, and realized that lately there are lots of bands like that I listen to, so... I suppose the theme will be electro pop/ indie.

Enjoy the rest songs as well!

Daily Bread - Shot the picture (I'm gonna speak about them soonish, saw them live in Groningen. Amazing sexy garage rock or whatever they define themselves).

Passion pit - Sleepy head (amazing!). I think I might have productive a Sunday night.
