#33 Night birds /calm/

Hey, it's been a while... duh! Fuck, I feel like posting so many things but... like seriously - i had 12 hours of sleep for the past 3 days. It's been... anyway, finally some peace and quiet - and it is awesome, being alone with your thoughts. So, I'm playing:

Ryan Adams - Night birds
Sun Kill Moon - neverending math equation
Boom Bip - The matter (of our discussion)

#32 My eyes on fire /dubstep/

Those three dubstep songs can make me fake seizure. I was crazy about them some weeks ago and did not know what to post tonight so..they kinda go in a package.

Zeds dead - White satin
Blue foundation - Eyes on fire (zeds dead rmx)
Modestep - Sunlight

Also, I realize lately I somehow cannot be bothered to write something other than short introduction. Maybe my humble thoughts about life are becoming less and less significant even for myself, who knows. But now, enjoy the music.

#30 Saint Patrick's day music

So Saint Patrick's day is coming! Back in Bulgaria people do not care much about that holiday, but I guess there will be celebration tomorrow here in Groningen! I like Irish culture and music and some of the newly celtic punk bands or whatever they are called - saw Flogging Molly some years ago in USA, was fun! Actually I was living near Boston where the biggest irish community is so I kinda felt the spirit a bit. Anyway, my classes will be over and I will have another occasion to get drunk. So I decided to post some songs just to boost the spirit a bit.

So here there are some songs related with that...culture?

#29 Ocean beach /chillout, lounge/

Good morning! I woke up a bit before my alarm so I decided that it is a good opportunity to add another post in the blog. Lately people (including myself) are so stressed and live such a dynamic life - school, work, trying to keep some sort of socialization going on... sometimes is just overwhelming. And despite that I have shitloads of things to do, I feel like ending on a beach and listening to relaxing music. Unfortunately, for now I can do just the listening.

Blank & Jones - Relax (Vargo vocal mix)
The Black Mighty Orchestra - Ocean beach

...and a special THANKS to Belen for Big Muff - My funny valentine

#28 Rude boy /reggae/

It's been a while, but I've been covered with shit up till my neck! Writing a thesis appears to be more time and energy consuming than I thought. By the way, one of the DJs I wrote about in #27 won a local DJ contest, so KUDOS! Without boring you and myself to death maybe I should end my limited personal sharing information now.

I'm sure you saw the picture so by no surprise I will post some reggae brasilian and argentinian kindly introduced by my neighbours from A.)

and... umm yeah a song I came across long time ago and I was dying to post it here Dub Incorporation - Rude Boy

#27 MannsHausen /electro/

Today I was lucky enough to get access to a radio show and I met two really cool german DJs going by the name of MannHausen. They liked my idea of promoting uprising artists and shared some of their tracks with me, so I really hope some of you will give their music a shot.

You can hear "Summer Is Over" on their myspace page and one of their sets on soundcloud. (thumbs up for the set!)

For those of you living in/around Groningen - they play live quite often in clubs around the city... so you know where I'm going with this, right?

#26 4? /alternative rock/

Since from today I'm starting another page in the blog - the promising artist. Mainly local bands or artists, not very popular outside their countries... or which I think should gain more attention.

So the pictures from the other page will link you to a post somewhere in the blog. But, lets cut to the chase - the guys from 4? are amazing musicians and very cool people which I had the opportunity to meet in Bulgaria. Frankly said, their music would pwn the ass of many hyped bands nowadays. Lots of potential! Check their songs As I am and Surviving a car crash.

#25 Naked and famous /electro pop, indie rock/

Hey, its gonna be a really quick post, although I had a crazy crazy weekend with a total amount of sleep around 5 or 6 hours. And I do have what to say about life in general, cause I just realized that all I write in the blog are boring daily thingies. Lame. But, anyways I just played The naked and Famous - Punching in a dream, and realized that lately there are lots of bands like that I listen to, so... I suppose the theme will be electro pop/ indie.

Enjoy the rest songs as well!

Daily Bread - Shot the picture (I'm gonna speak about them soonish, saw them live in Groningen. Amazing sexy garage rock or whatever they define themselves).

Passion pit - Sleepy head (amazing!). I think I might have productive a Sunday night.

#24 Australian music

I discovered a really cool indie band recently. Apparently, they are from Australia. I also lived with an awesome australian girl. So... I guess this post will be dedicated to the australian music scene, which gave us really really good songs.

The indie band I mentioned in the beginnig is Last Dinosaurs - Time & Place. The video is quite fascinating as well. Oh, seriously I can't come up with anything to write today, I'm completely stuck, I feel that everything I write is just some boring blablabla. So I will just put the other bands I really like.

There are lots of bands which I can mention, but the one I really can't miss is Silverchair (awesome live!).

Australia rocks! And now.. I have to pick up my brain because passing out last night was...oh fuck it.

#23 Zodiac /post-rock/

Yeah, one of those nights... I've been thinking for a while to do another post-rock (#1) post.. but actually I have this weird observation that people in general do not like that music much. But.. if you give it a chance, at least for me, is pretty moving. That genre has been one of my main music preferences for quite some years. So tonight my mood is perfect for some post-rock.

I will definitely begin with some songs of the band which probably helped me the most to fall in love with that type of music - God is an astronaut (catchy name, huh). I'm not gonna post all of my favourite songs, cuz they are quite a lot.

God is an astronaut - A moment of stillness
God is an astronaut - All is violent, all is bright
God is an astronaut - Zodiac
God is an astronaut - Forever lost

Another quite extraordinary name - If these trees could talk - whats in the ground belongs to you

If you enjoyed the past 5 songs, I guess I will advice you to do what I am about to do now - watch this set of a band called Tortoise (live in Werchter). Even if just to expand your musical culture a bit, cause those guys are something you do not see every day. Godspeed!

#22 This could be real /dubstep/

So, whats up? I didn't party as much as expected last weekend, but at least I nailed my presentation today. It's been productive time span since the last time i wrote. Anyway, new month is coming up and I kinda doubt what should be the starting post... well now I'm listening to the hyped dub step, so... why not? I read somewhere that dub step was the genre which gained most popularity during 2010. I like it.

So... from the things I came across the one I chose to post today are

Sub Focus - This Could Be Real (Joker Rmx)

Bar 9 - Midnight

Modestep - Feel Good

Okay, I hope you enjoy it and I think I definitely need to search more dubstep tracks
