#21 Shooting stars /easy-going/

Okay, its Friday and its the last week of one of the coldest months. To sum up - alles goed! So, this will be the last comment for February and... well I won't focus around a certain genre, what I feel like is posting some as defined before as easy-going songs, which you can play in the beginning of a party to warm up or.. fuck it, they are awesome kick-off for every day!

The next song was sent to me by awesome sister and despite the initial conversation in the video, where the dude sounds exactly like Arnold Schwarzenegger, the song is almost 10 points of the scale of awesomeness.

Jan Delay - Oh Johny

Cool song, right? Anyhow, coming up is another song which I heavily abused on youtube. I'm pretty sure I will post it again in another post, because I just love it! They play it quite often in one of my favourite bars here called Warhole. I do suspect it is quite popular. So there it goes - Bag Raiders - Shooting Stars!

And the final track for this month is taken by N.E.R.D. with their You know what. The track is mind-blowing, its got everything, a bit hip hop, catchy keyboard, cool guitar sound in the background.

Oh well, that was from me for February, I'm taking a short posting vacation till Tuesday so I can devote my time to partying during the weekend and reading articles and posting the blog wherever I can.

Oh, yeah one more thing, I'm trying to expand it a bit so if you have any ideas what other pages I can include  (besides Home and Contacts) or you got reccommendations what you think might be useful on the blog (like links, articles etc.) just let me know, would be quite useful. Be right back.

#20 Last Jungle /drum n bass/

So another sleepless night, bleah! I thought I haven't posted drum and bass recently, so...well why not, some good tunes for the upcoming weekend. I wouldn't say all of them sound like pure drum and bass, but that is just a minor detail.

Danny Byrd - Tonight (ft. Netsky)

Sub Focus - Last Jungle

Pendulum - Watercolour

I think I will pay more detailed attention to each one of them, but later in the posts. They definitely deserve that.

#19 We're here to destroy /hardcore/

After a couple of days doubting should I move the blog to tumblr, finally decided to make minor changes on the design and leave it here. I think adding the labels thing will make it easier. I also have some ideas of expanding the place, but will see.

Oh well, I think its time to put something a bit harder. I'm not much of an expert when it comes to hardcore, but I think  that channeling the energy from that music in a right direction might be quite productive sometimes. Anyhow, I encountered some of the modern hardcore bands lately and I was pleasantly surprised. Frankly said, I like it more than the old school stuff.

Anyway, the band inspired me to post that today is Your Demise and so far I've heard only two songs by them, but that is because last week I was busy raping the replay button on youtube. Anyway, the same week I had one of those nights, you know...after which everyone boldly states "I will never drink again!". Yeah, right. So after sleeping for 3 hours I woke up and my head was killing so despite what my agenda said I had no intention to go to the gym. Then I played that song, copied it on my phone and within 20 minutes I was in front of ACLO (the local sports center). Good stuff. Ah, yeah I got carried away - the song is called Miles Away.

Shit, not posting makes me very talkative. I will cut to the chase - hope you like the other two songs.

The Carrier - One year later

Killing the dream - Blame the architects

Amazing songs!!! A word of advice - check out the lyrics. ttyl

#18 In the city of fury /late night music/

Do not feel like explaining what brought me up listening to that music at that time of the day, but I'm sure most of us feel like listening to that late at night. It kind of makes you think about stuff, you know? So..when that moment comes - enjoy...

Soda stereo - en la cuidad de la furia

Foo Fighters - On the mend

Katie Melua - Fear of hights

Sleep well, reader..or good morning or afternoon? yeah, cannot guess what time of the day you read that post, but I strongly advice you to wait for the quietness of a good night before listening to that. Otherwise, just click on #17, for example.

#17 Dice /indie rock, easy-going/

Hey, just came back from uni... I totally forgot how hard is the student's life. But at least we learn something not as boring as the usual things we take. It's been crazy for the past couple of weeks, which I guess is good cause I keep myself kind of busy. I got the motivation to write today because of a song I came across facebook this morning, thank you (the person who posted it).

Finley Quaye - Dice

The song is unbelievably fucking incredible! I think I'm gonna rape the replay button on youtube..actually I better download it?

The next band, I found accidently on myspace 5 or 6 years ago and until recently they did not have anything on youtube, but luckily someone posted that - Moldig - Cloudless. In my opinion, they are very promising so do not hesitate to check them out! :)

And the last one is a random pick-up from my old school winamp playlist Asher Lane - News Days.

I tried to be kind of positive, since its Monday and we got another 4 days and a half to push until next weekend. Wish you an above-the-decent rest of the day.

#16 Insomniak /electronic/

Hey, its been a while... back to university is definitely reducing my time/desire to post some things around here. Unfortunately. I was THAT close to post some cute melodies for the bright holiday called Saint Valentine's or whatever his name is.. but after 6 hours of work the only thing I wanted to do was puking over the holiday.

So, after my daily 3 sentences related to what I think, which in general isn't that complicated or interesting, we can proceed to the music stuff. The idea of this post is driven mainly because of the spanish band Cycle, which my neighbour Irene showed me a couple of months ago. Well, they kick ass!

Cycle - Insomniak (rmx) didn't find the original on youtube

Next, is just a song that kinda resembles the Cycle, in a way - Velocity shift - overseer

...and I'm back to my marketing articles, so enjoy The roots & Bt - Tao of the machine

#14 Bliss /meditation, ambient/

Given the direction of the previous post I..and probably some of you, or noone, might be quite surprised about #14. Anyway, I spoke with a friend of mine and I realized she needs to take a chill pill, because she's going insane, so.. I decided to post some of the songs that make me feel a slightly bit more peaceful (yeah, that is possible).

I guess the music is some sort of combination between ambinet and.. ambient? No idea, I think the picture describes it well.

So basically I'm just gonna list the songs, later in the posts will get into more details for some of the bands (most of them are just compilations).

Apparently, most of the stuff I got on my computer are not on youtube (crap!), so...maybe I will upload some of them for the next post, cuz there are some really relaxing things on that hard drive of mine.

So... I hope your chakras work well (or whatever the spiritual gurus say). Namaste!

#13 All I want /post-hardcore/

Was supposed to write this tomorrow, but i got a shitty day so, lets add some aggression in it, why not? Hey, David - this goes out for you homie, I hope you enjoy the songs.

Anyway, these are some of the bands I've been listening while working out or just feeling really pissed off. Some of them can be classified as metalcore/post-hardcore, but most of you would just say - what the fuck is that noise. If you cannot find the point in the music, well there will be other posts, right? *smiley*

So, despite all of the crappy bands in that genre, the Architects can blow your mind...after a pause of two days.... That is in case you like that sort of music, which for most of you does not apply, I assume. But you know - diversity is good, and these guys seem quite talented to me.

Architects - Follow the water
Architects - Day in, day out

I don't feel/have anything more to say, except that these songs, despite the aggression give (to me at least) some desire to keep pushing every single day.. so yeah I guess I will just post them and the rest is on you.

Dead and Divine - Like wolves

Close your eyes - The body

and.. lets say - A day to remember - All I want

Oh well, I hope you don't see that music that negative..or you find your reasons to like it. If not, there's like shitloads of music out there, stay tuned for more...tomorrow.

#12 White lies /rock, indie, alternative/

Oh, crap. That was a crazy weekend... but didn't get much sleep. Again! I will soo regret that later in life. Ah, yeah - so not quite sure how the songs today are related, but I do believe (in my mind) they have some similarities.

So, White lies - not quite sure how they popped in my favourites section in my youtube account, but they definitely deserved their place here today. In my opinion you should check at least these songs:

White lies - Death
White lies - Ritual
White lies - Farewell to the fairground

The second band, that seems logical to post here are Keane, but I really have nothing much to say about them, except the fact I think they are famous and they got kick-ass keyboard parts.

Keane - Your Eyes Open
Keane - Crystal Ball

And finally, I want you to introduce you very pleasant and interesting (maybe cuz of the language) band - Kent, which were shown to me by my swedish friend Martin..and yeah they are also swedish. Kind of remind me of Sigur ros, maybe cuz I cannot understand nothing from the lyrics. But it's definitely worth checking out!

Kent - FF

Well, that is for now. Buenos tardes, amigos :)

#11 Transmission /chillout. downtempo, electronic/

Oh crap, I tried to write that post last night, but either I bored myself to death...or I just was extremely tired. I think we can all agree on the second one! Anyway, I know its Friday so by that time tomorrow most of you/us will be shitfaced and hangover, so I decided to give you some good music for the next morning, when you anxiously curse yourself for drinking more than you should.

Bonobo - I would definitely categorize him as downtempo, he's just an amazing artist, that can get you through anyway. I cannot be able to choose only song and you would also not be sorry if you check of them:

Bonobo - pick up
Bonobo - Transmission 94 /this track is maybe my favourite one/
Bonobo - Recurring
Bonobo - Days to come
Bonobo - If you stayed over
edit 1 - also Bonobo - The Plug (quantic mix)

Okay, next in my mind was a song by a band called Nightmares on wax. So far I will limit myself in one song, because I never found enough time to listen to them thoroughly, but...they do seem quite promising!

Nightmares on wax - You wish

And for the grand finale something quite popular - Thievery Corporation - Lebanese Blonde. I won't go into details, I think I might include them a bit later in other posts, but you can always check their other stuff,

Okay, that's it - see you around Monday, you kids have fun this weekend! I really wanted to put a smiley here, but it just.. doesn't look normal.

#10 Delicious /techno, electro/

Crazy day, awesome rehearsal! Anyway, the upcoming post is mainly a product of the awesome taste of Martijn and Belen who gave me these amazing ideas. Thank you. And yeah - someone told me my introductions were funny sometimes, well I really tried to be interesting this time, but its so fucking late so I just wanna hit you up with these amazing tracks and post the weekly update around (i mean facebook).

Next one is a weird of dubstep tempo and.. something electronic and pop, but still - I like it a lot!

And at the end, a track all of us /or maybe the older ones/ love =)

Actually I might post another thing now...or in a few hours when I woke up from my pathetic 5-6 hours sleep. Godspeed!

#9 Jah Jah City /reggae/

Clouds, clouds, clouds and from time to time - a light rain. But there's one way to prevent killing yourself as a result of the magnificent weather in the Netherlands. Okay two.. okay more, but I really need to make some reference to the reggae music, so.. let's just agree that listening to positive music (and maybe sometimes smoking) can save lives. Sometimes.

Decided not to put that many videos on here, because it makes the page a bit "heavy", but there always exceptions.

Next.. he's Jewish and he sings reggae (with a bit mixture of other genres). He's awesome. He's Matisyahu.

Ok, so decided to skip the most famouse reggae artists today. Cannnot give reasonable explanation, but we all love you Bob Marley and your family. You shall be included very very soon. So, enjoy the final track for that topic -

So there it goes - another day, another fight. Hope the outcome is positive for you :)
