#107 The appleseed cast /indie, post-rock/

Some time ago I wrote about the debut album of Moving Mountains. Anyway, I've seen the name of the Appleseed Cast many times ago throughout the years but never paid much attention to their music, until recently, cause they were pointed as influential for MovMou.

Long story short, I had to check out their stuff and now it's hard to say which band I prefer more. So yeah, the Appleseed Cast. Some describe them as indie post rock. I think, they are good for  Sunday evening.

The Appleseed Cast - Fight Song

The Appleseed Cast - As the little things go

The Appleseed Cast - Innocent vigilant ordinary

If you liked what you heard, I reckon to check their music more thoroughly, which frankly said I should do as well.

#68 On a clear day /summer, australian/

Gibraltar
So it's the peak of the summer and people are traveling around, going to festivals, you know - gathering positive emotions! I am finally doing nothing and chilling at home, but its been enough for this year. Anyway, I've been listening to the following kind of sumerish rockish tunes and I think you might enjoy them.

..actually the three bands are from Australia. Such a beautiful place.

#52 Smoke on the balcony /pop-rock/

So, despite that the picture on the left is crappy..it's the first time I use my own as a cover of a post in this blog. Just wanted to show you where I spent my last couple of afternoons, including today. Was quite nice, just went there alone, put my bagpack on the ground and laid down watching the sunset. Despite the fact that we live in quite dynamic and interrelated world, being alone with your thoughts (and away of skype, facebook, twitter) is a must from time to time! I will post you some of the songs which accompanied me during my late afternoon nap on the roof.
Ginger ninja - Sunshine

Ginger Ninja link 2 (in case the video is not supported in your country)

The two songs, which are a good representative of the modern pop-rock culture sound cheerful, but for some reason I get a bit gloomy listening to them. And the last one - a bit different genre, but definitely suitable for the occasion. Jakob - drive here and then

Something very beautiful that happened to me is coming to an end. I already had to close some of the pages and it does not feel right.. but that's life. Those songs, despite their difference will remind me of so many things. Too bad I can't explain with words. You - just enjoy them :)

#48 Say Anything /indie, pop/

So it's Friday. One hour before the start of my working shift. Six hours before the weekly Friday party and three days before my presentation. No idea where I'm trying to go with that, so I better just drop it off. My point is that I think I should post some a bit cheerful music. A friend of mine sent me this Romanian band..which I can describe as a mixture between some indie band and... electro pop? Well, thats just the way I feel it so - enjoy the Les Elephant Bizarres - Hello!

The next band I came across, watching Scrubs. I do sense the indie sound (a bit) so.. I guess I can just put it out there for you.. Say Anything - Alive with the glory of love (it is quite awesome song..despite the intro).

The last song.. oh, fuck it - sounds cheerful and I dig the name of the band! You, Me and Everyone we Know - I can get back up now. Actually, I just found them like 5 minutes ago, but on the second listening - its nice song!

Enjoy your weekend!

#12 White lies /rock, indie, alternative/

Oh, crap. That was a crazy weekend... but didn't get much sleep. Again! I will soo regret that later in life. Ah, yeah - so not quite sure how the songs today are related, but I do believe (in my mind) they have some similarities.

So, White lies - not quite sure how they popped in my favourites section in my youtube account, but they definitely deserved their place here today. In my opinion you should check at least these songs:

White lies - Death
White lies - Ritual
White lies - Farewell to the fairground

The second band, that seems logical to post here are Keane, but I really have nothing much to say about them, except the fact I think they are famous and they got kick-ass keyboard parts.

Keane - Your Eyes Open
Keane - Crystal Ball

And finally, I want you to introduce you very pleasant and interesting (maybe cuz of the language) band - Kent, which were shown to me by my swedish friend Martin..and yeah they are also swedish. Kind of remind me of Sigur ros, maybe cuz I cannot understand nothing from the lyrics. But it's definitely worth checking out!

Kent - FF

Well, that is for now. Buenos tardes, amigos :)

#5 woo hoo /pop-indie-rock, cheerful stuff/

Morning y'all! It's an awesome sunny day, quite unusual for NL, but who gives a fuck. It is nice outside, so lets go with the flow - these are some songs which I play when I feel like having a good day (or if I want to point it in that direction).

The type of songs that make you do funny, a bit disturbing moves when you walk outside, but at some point you stop giving a shit (beware, its different than not giving a fuck).

I won't categorize today's songs, some tag them as indie, others as pop-rock, I just like them. And some of them have sax thingies, which is another point of the coolness scale.

ps - you might also wanna check one of the lives of that song

Keep my head from going down! Just for a little, just for a little!

yeah and the last song, ok its not exactly nearly pop but if I ever end up on a high hill above a big city, and it is during the sunrise, I would definitely play that song. It makes me feel epic... cuz we are kings and queens!

Well, I'm finally going out of the bed and I wish you an extraordinary Friday =)
