#75 Rufus T. Firefly

Okay, so I finally decided to add a new post in the "Promising Artists" section! During my viaje in Spain I came across a young, but promising indie/alternative/post rock band from Aranjuez (a really cool city near Madrid). I had the pleasure of meeting one of the members and I got their CD so after listening to it for a while I decided it would be a good idea to try to spread their music around.

So the band is called Rufus T. Firefly and the name of the album is "My synthetic heart" which is also one of the tracks in it. The artwork is FUCKING MINDBLOWING and I dig some of the lyrics! I couldn't find most of the songs from this album online, but you can check their other songs on their web page and myspace page.

Some of the songs available online which I like - my personal favourite Inertia... also 8:24, Rational killer monkey

So, if you have time and you wanna listen to something new and not yet commercial, I think those guys deserve 15 minutes of your time.

"Tomorrow nothing will remain. Tomorrow will be time to think."

#74 First breath after come /post-rock/

I just checked my last.fm page and I noticed that there is a song I played significantly more than any other song..so I played it again. And again. People describe it as psychedelic math rock (The music is often intended to have a disorienting or destabilizing effect, or to otherwise act on the listeners’ sense of “normalcy”) - you gotta love that description, right? It is not really music for the masses but hey, its pretty cool once you get into it.

The band is Giraffes? Giraffes! - When The Catholic Girls Go Camping, The Nicotine Vampires Rule Supreme. ...haha

Ok, now let's throw some post-rock in the mix.. Explosions in the sky, which hopefully I will see live in November - First breath after coma

aaaand something a bit more hard Russian Circles - Station

#71 Crash /acoustic, late night music/

Don't get me wrong, I understand that all of us got problems and all of us are unhappy with ..well with something. But.. I don't know, I think that sometimes many people, including me do not appreciate what we got for granted. The ability to walk, smell, see, feel, jump, crouch, twist, touch the world around us. And..despite.. all the crap that has been going around us, there must be a point of our life that we stop, turn our head in a weird direction and say.. "hey, I am lucky for some of the things I have..it can always be worse".

I have no idea whats going on and where life is going but..that is the beauty out of it, right? You have no idea what is expecting you tomorrow.

#66 The beginning of the end /various/

Okay, so I am at the final stop of my summer trip and after ..dont know how many days I sit in front of a computer and since my friend from Madrid is sleeping I decided to drop some information here. After tents, cars, beaches and festivals I will fancy a bed and shower, but I will kind of miss the adventures you will read later on. I saw some of the most amazing sunsets, beaches, mountains, waterfalls..which I jumped from! in the world...

Although its not rly a blog I plan to post a long post with pictures of the weird adventures I´ve been through and the places I ended up..some of them quite unexpected. I was supposed to visit Spain only, but I ended up waking up in a beach in portugal just at the most western point of the continent. But stay tuned for more. Besides Portugal, technically I entered UK ..the picture u see is from Gibraltar and we were at the top of that awesome small mountain or whatever it is, admirnig the sunset. I recorded many cool spanish songs but I need to find them on youtube... so when I get back home.

The first band I post Rufus T. Firefly ..well I met their drummer, an really positive and nice girl called Julia and i got their 2 cds and ..well they rock. I think I might dedicate a whol post on t heir music..later on. The other 3 songs..they are just accompanying me during my tour of this part of the world. Enjoy.

Rufus T. Firefly - ?

Oasis - Champagne Supernova

The killers - when you were young

Eddie Vedder - Hard Sun
