#122 We Could Go Forever

Ok, so I got a few good tracks from the past week, some dub/electro stuff, if I have to label them myself. Anyhow, they are a good solid basis for very chilled and relaxed weekend! The reason for the post is a track by Bonobo which shuffled on my winamp (yeah, I know - its pretty old school) - We Could Go Forever!

Next in the pocket, there's an French DJ introduced to me by a close friend of mine and by my surprised, he has used Bulgarian samples in his track, which personally grabbed me immediately - check it out, the tune is way above decent... Fumuj - Pollie.

Finally (that structure reminds me of one of those TOEFL essays, firstly, secondly ....) I just randomly got this from my youtube section, nevertheless me gusta! Quantic - We got soul

#120 Lucidity

I've been waiting for the release of the album I'm about to quickly present you for a long, long time...meaning years. Frankly said, I will be quite biased in my comment because it is the second album of one of my closest friends. His name is Daniel - a great friend, multi-instrumentalist, producer and a musical inspiration (to me)... and  on top of that he is quite young given his musical maturity.  The guy plays ....God knows how many instruments and sings quite well (which you will hear in the album). Heptagram - a one-man project is his and it totally kicks ass.

Basically, the album Lucidity is recorder by him with the assistance of a few other musicians - you can hear very interesting combinations between the usual rock instruments and saxophone/kaval (a traditional Bulgarian instrument). You can find out more about it at his bandcamp site! Also, you can download the whole album for free or decide how much are you willing to pay for it - it is up to you. As far as I know from my personal conversations with him, he just wants to spread the music out there and... its for whoever you like it.

Regarding the album, I had the opportunity to listen to it 3-4 times and now I'm focusing on abusing the replay button of specific songs, but of course it is up to you whether you are going to like it. My only piece of advice and personal recommendation is to listen to it once from the beginning to the end - you won't miss out. Even if it is not your cup of tea, the album is pretty diverse in my opinion - there are various musical genre influences which you can find through the songs.

ps. my personal favourites so far are Boundless, Ten Foot Samurai, Heritage and Lucidity... just for the record ;)

#92 Helen Keller

Helen Keller (1880 - 1968)
I have no idea why but I just came across the name of Helen Keller. Honestly, I had no idea who she was and what she was fighting for.. I do not feel confident enough with my writing to try to describe her life and what she has been through, but her story stroke me immediately. It cured my insignificant and meaningless hangover, it made me realize that staying in bed will not give me anything today, it gave me desire to stand up and try to achieve something today. Move, embrace things around you, touch, feel, absorb, smile, make others smile.. if a deafblind person managed to achieve so much and made the world a better place, I... we should try to do that. At the end if all about beliving in yourself and having the inner strength to keep fighting with what life offers us. Helen, that goes for you!

Foster the people - Helena Beat!!

The beautiful girls - On a clear day

Citizen Cope - Let the drummer kick

#53 Mellow Music Festival /mix/

Okay, so here I was trying to calculate the profit or loss of a writer of a put option...and it's really.. Anyway. I came across information about the Mellow Music Festival and I decided to check the bands. Surprisingly some of them I knew, some of them I saw live in Netherlands..the others - are just awesome. Unfortunately, I won't be in Bulgaria during that time...damn it!

Anyways, for those of you who are eager to check the line-up because..well you just want to discover new music or you might actually consider attending the event I decided to post some songs which I personally liked.

Red snapper - just saw them live a couple of weeks ago and I would have to say that it was an interesting experience. What is more - they gonna play on the free stage. Enjoy Suckerpunch.

Another act on the free stage will be Onra - The Anthem. Frankly said, today was the first time I came across with him but I dig his sound.

Despite the free stage, there will be numerous other open clubs where you can listen to various artists (if you are willing to buy the ticket/bracelet..which is totally worth it). Another amazing thing I see for a first time is the Carles Lopez plays the Reactible Live!. Seriously, that interactive instrument blew my mind. I won't go into much details, but this is the official website - www.reactable.com.

Another name worth checking is The Clonious - One at a time (no idea why I chose that song, but sounds chilling)... I totally fell in love with that song FYI.

Well I hope despite the short information about the artists this post sparkled either your interest for their music or... in case you are in Bulgaria around that date - you would consider checking the Mellow Music Festival.
